It’s always a positive thing to have an elite quarterback as part of your recruiting class. Michigan football has that in Brady Hart for the 2026 class and now, the Wolverines can focus on building it around him.

Michigan football was able to do that in 2021 and signed a hell of a class around J.J. McCarthy, one that included Donovan Edwards. The hope is that Sherrone Moore and company can do the same thing around Brady Hart, who will have almost 18 months to recruit fellow commitments.

Hart is a stellar quarterback and continues to impress. He also put his recruiting hat on right away for Michigan football and his commitment has generated some positive buzz.

The top-100 quarterback in the 2026 class will visit Michigan football for the July BBQ, which will be the last July BBQ for Michigan football (and all other programs) as July will be a complete dead period moving forward.

Yet, the BBQ has become a key recruiting event for the Wolverines and should be this time too. Hart will visit and according to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, so will elite 2026 running back Savion Hiter.

The 5-foot-11 190-pound back out of Virginia is ranked 31st overall according to the On3 Industry rankings in teh 2026 class as well as the No. 3 running back.

Hiter is the top target for Michigan football at running back in the 2026 class and he already visited in April. He’s visited Georgia and Ohio State twice in 2024, so this would put U-M on par with those programs. Virginia is also in the mix and is the current leader according to the On3 prediciton machine, but I don’t see that lasting.

Michigan football has had plenty of success in the DMV over the years. Landing Hiter will be a tough pull but giving Tony Alford close a full cycle to recruit the kid and you have to feel like the Wolverines have a chance.
