Since leaving Michigan basketball via the transfer portal, former star center Hunter Dickinson has expressed quite a bit of excitement about his new program, the Kansas Jayhawks. This week, new quotes and reports from various outlets emerged via Dickinson’s appearance on a Kansas-based podcast, stating that the people of Kansas are nicer than the people of Michigan and more. These comments have riled up Wolverines fans, though Dickinson wants to clarify that he means no harm when it comes to the state and the University of Michigan.
Hunter Dickinson clears the air with Michigan basketball fans following backlash over podcast comments
Michigan basketball fans are not too happy with Hunter Dickinson and his new comments about the state. That said, Hunter wants to clear the air about his recent statements.
“I was just trying to make a joke about how nice the people are here at Kansas,” Hunter Dickinson told Blue by Ninety following backlash regarding his previous statements. “I know the media is going to take it out of context and say I was trying to take a shot at Michigan, but if people watch the whole podcast, they’ll hear many times how I loved my time at Michigan. Of course, the media won’t post anything about that, though.”
This fall and winter, for the first time in his career, Hunter Dickinson will be suiting up in colors that aren’t Maize and Blue. After three incredible years with the Wolverines, Dickinson is in search of a better fit and may have found it with the Kansas Jayhawks.
