Former Michigan football captain Erick All is an interesting topic for Wolverines fans — he was once a standout tight end for a Big Ten title-winning team in 2021, though left the program in a less-than-ideal way when he went to Iowa in 2023. Regardless, All made his NFL decision official on Monday afternoon: he will be trying his hand at the draft in April.

Most Michigan football fans will recall the top play of Erick All’s tenure with the Maize and Blue: a long touchdown grab against Penn State, which gave the Wolverines a 21-17 victory in Happy Valley en route to the program’s first Big Ten title since 2004.

Since then, Erick All was forced to sit out of the 2022 season due to an injury, prompting the standout tight end to transfer to Iowa for the 2023 season. Like fellow former Michigan football captain Cade McNamara, All was injured just a few games into his time with the Hawkeyes; however, unlike McNamara, he is headed to the NFL Draft this spring.

Erick All shouts out the Wolverines in his parting message

In his parting message to the college football community, Erick All shouted out both the Iowa and Michigan football programs — a classy move that seems to have eased some tensions among the fan base.

“To the Wolverine Nation, I will forever love and thank you guys,” All’s message reads. “It has been quite the ride. A lot of things happened unexpectedly. I love you guys and will forever be grateful for you and all the love you’ve shown me throughout the years.”

All’s time at Michigan football was a success

At Michigan (2019-2022), Erick All was a three-time letter-winner and a 2021 All-Big Ten honorable mention tight end. He finished his Maize and Blue career with 54 receptions, 564 receiving yards, and a pair of receiving touchdowns through 33 games with the Michigan football program — 13 of which coming in 2021.
