Last week, on Wednesday, the newest wave of Michigan Wolverines signed their letters of intent to play for the Maize and Blue next fall — included among these signees was four-star running back Jordan Marshall (OH), who could very well be the next great Michigan football running back.

Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines have built up their offensive success on the shoulders of an elite rushing attack, combining their often-elite offensive line with some stellar running backs over the past few years. Names like Hassan Haskins, Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, and others come to mind when it comes to Michigan’s three straight Big Ten Championships and College Football Playoff berths this decade.
Next season, a new name will be added to Mike Hart’s Michigan football running back room: Jordan Marshall, a four-star ball carrier out of Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, OH. Earlier this year, Jim Harbaugh beat Ryan Day and Ohio State for this elite RB prospect, who was the first major Buckeye target to pick the Wolverines in quite some time.
In the months that followed, Jordan Marshall showed the nation why both Michigan football and Ohio State wanted his commitment so much, dazzling with his rushing and receiving skills. In fact, Marshall even threw a 46-yard touchdown pass during the 2023 season before officially signing with Michigan ahead of the team’s Rose Bowl berth.
Jordan Marshall named “Mr. Ohio Football”
Standing at 6-foot and weighing in around 215 pounds, Jordan Marshall rushed his way into Ohio High School Football history this fall, being named “Mr. Ohio Football” — he carried the rock 255 times in 2023 for 1,554 yards and 17 touchdowns, not to mention his 384 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns, and a passing touchdown.

Per the latest On3 industry rankings, Jordan Marshall is pinned as the No. 81 recruit in the country, the No. 4 running back in the 2024 recruiting class, and the No. 3 player in the state of Ohio. While Michigan football will have a number of talented backs next fall, perhaps even retaining Donovan Edwards and more, most expect Marshall to make a splash for the Wolverines in year one as Michigan searches for a fourth straight Big Ten Championship next fall.
