Jim Harbaugh is heading into his 9th season with the Wolverines and appears to have a solid shot at winning the program’s first national title in nearly 30 years this fall. Wherever Harbaugh has gone, he has lived by a motto that all Maize and Blue fans are familiar with by now — “Attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.” As the Wolverines gear up for a new season, these words have never carried more value for the program than they do right now; in fact, they’ve become so important that they are now enshrined as the newest Michigan football helmet sticker.

New Michigan football helmet sticker introduced based on famous Jim Harbaugh motto

Earlier this week, the media was able to meet with Jim Harbaugh for the first time since fall camp began. I have covered that press conference extensively — both objectively and from a more opinionated standpoint — yet have not really mentioned the newest Michigan football helmet sticker yet.

What is this new helmet sticker, though?

“It’s to the point where, and I had to make a poster person for who I thought was the most, who really defined enthusiasm unknown to mankind,” Harbaugh said. “I looked at every player, every coach, even considered myself. And by the power vested in me, the head coach, the poster person for enthusiasm unknown to mankind for the 2023 year is Kris Jenkins. Made a nice little sticker, ‘EUTM.’ It’s now on the helmet.”

So, is it just senior defensive tackle Kris Jenkins that has earned this new Michigan football helmet sticker? Nope — Jim Harbaugh states that the Wolverines have a number of standouts that are wearing it this year.

“He’s not the only one who has it,” Harbaugh continued, “we’ve given some others out.”Blake Corum, JJ McCarthy, Zack Marshall — even gave one to a freshman. And a few others got that initial award. But yeah, the poster person is Kris Jenkins. So a lot of them. Captains — that’s coming, we’ll see. We’ll see what that vote yields. But there’s just so many, so many to choose from that lead and attack and love football.”

When Michigan football hits the field against East Carolina on September 2nd, officially kicking off the 2023 college football season in Ann Arbor, keep an eye on a few helmets, as you may get a glimpse of this new sticker.
