The 2023 Michigan football season is fast approaching, and the Wolverines are being pinned as potential national title game favorites. After beating Ohio State, winning the Big Ten, and making the College Football Playoff twice in a row, this year appears to be the best team that Jim Harbaugh has ever put together. After the year, the Wolverines could be in for a record-breaking postseason, with 20 players currently ranking on NFL Draft boards.
Jim Harbaugh says Michigan football could break a major NFL Draft record
Jim Harbaugh is quite high on his current Michigan football roster. Today, players are reporting in for fall camp, and tomorrow, camp will begin, marking the final stages of preparation for the Wolverines ahead of the coming season. That said, Michigan’s 9th-year head coach has his eye on the future and thinks that this year’s team could break an NFL Draft record next spring.
“I think we’ll have 20 guys picked (in the next NFL draft),” Jim Harbaugh told Bruce Feldman of The Athletic. “I bet we break that (draft) record. (The Georgia Bulldogs) had 15 that year.”
Some of the top Michigan football stars that will be eligible for the coming draft include JJ McCarthy, Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, Kris Jenkins, and many more. While it may not be beneficial for the Wolverines in the 2024 season, breaking a monumental record like that would be an incredible feat for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines following the upcoming college football season.
Enjoy this year’s Michigan football roster, because if Jim Harbaugh is correct, many of these Wolverines will not be putting on the Maize and Blue again after the upcoming season.
