With his NFL coaching background, Jim Harbaugh knows how to develop professional athletes. In Harbaugh’s tenure at Michigan, 44 Wolverines have been drafted to the NFL, with a record number of 11 players drafted in 2017. Michigan football has a chance to set the program record again in this year’s NFL Draft.

The 2024 Michigan Wolverines may be the best team assembled under Harbaugh’s tenure. With so much talent, the Wolverines are expected to do very well at this year’s NFL draft.

The 2024 NFL Draft will have 256 selections. Currently, NFL Draft Buzz has 12 Michigan football players ranked higher than 256. Here is the complete list of Wolverines projected to be taken in this year’s draft.

  1. Blake Corum, RB – No. 40
  2. J.J. McCarthy, QB – No. 71
  3. Donovan Edwards, RB – No. 102
  4. Kris Jenkins, DL – No. 120
  5. Josaiah Stewart, OLB – No. 130
  6. Junior Colson, LB – No. 178
  7. Zak Zinter, OG – No. 184
  8. Roman Wilson, WR – 192
  9. Rod Moore, S – 196
  10. LaDarius Henderson, OT – No. 208
  11. Julius Welschof, OLB – No. 229
  12. Drake Nugent, C – No. 248

Michigan football has had 10 players selected twice (1972, 1974), and 11 players selected just once (2017), but has never had 12 players taken in a draft. This would mark the second time Jim Harbaugh has set the Michigan football draft record.

While this projection would send a record number of Wolveirnes to the NFL, none of these players currently hold a first-round ranking. Blake Corum currently holds the highest ranking of any Wolverine but is still only ranked as the No. 40 draft prospect.

J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum are both gearing up for big seasons in 2023. If the Michigan football offense dominates again this year, McCarthy and Corum could launch their draft stock into the first round.
