This week, the world of college football has been quite focused on Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football program, who are currently under investigation by the NCAA. Right now, Harbaugh is facing a four-game suspension over ‘Burgergate,’ as it has become known by the fans. While Harbaugh and his attorney, Tom Mars, cannot directly comment on the matter, Mars had a hilarious tweet today that sums up the situation for the Wolverines quite well.
Jim Harbaugh’s attorney, Tom Mars, sends hilarious message
Today, Jim Harbaugh’s attorney, Tom Mars, posted a photo of a burger patty with the ‘Block M’ logo and “Big Ten Champs” written on it — above the burger was a DoorDash order, sending 20 hamburgers to the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. While this was clearly a joke, it sent a clear message, one that all Michigan football fans are thinking — this action from the NCAA is ridiculous.
As I mentioned, Jim Harbaugh and Tom Mars cannot comment on the matter outside of their statement from earlier this week, which can be found HERE. Due to the ongoing investigation, there have been few developments regarding Harbaugh’s NCAA suspension, which has not been made official yet but appears quite likely.
If Jim Harbaugh does get suspended by the NCAA, Michigan football will need an interim head coach for its first four games of the coming season — ECU, UNLV, Bowling Green, and Rutgers. During Big Ten Media Day on Thursday, Jim Harbaugh was asked about the investigation, and while he is not permitted to comment at this time, he was quick to state that he would “love to lay it all out there” regarding the NCAA and its investigation/punishment.
