Michigan football is losing a significant amount of its pass-rushing talent from the 2022 season. However, new additions from the transfer portal, including Josaiah Stewart and others, are on their way and aiming to make a difference this fall. Today, ON3 released its list of the top 25 most impactful transfers making the jump to Power 5 football, and among them is the Wolverines’ new edge rusher from Coastal Carolina.

Michigan football transfer portal addition Josaiah Stewart named one of the most impactful Group of 5 additions in the nation.

Josaiah Stewart was considered less touted as a high school prospect, but after proving himself at the college level, he quickly became one of the most sought-after transfer portal recruits in the nation. Recognizing the need for an edge rusher, Jim Harbaugh made a significant addition during the 2023 offseason: Josaiah Stewart, a four-star defender from the transfer portal.

During his two seasons with Coastal Carolina, Stewart excelled and played a key role in his former team’s successful seasons. Despite some labeling him as undersized and more, Stewart is determined to leave his mark in the Big Ten. Furthermore, according to Stewart himself, he aims to lead the Michigan Wolverines to a national title this fall — a goal that seems to resonate with the current theme in Ann Arbor.

According to an article from ON3 released today, Josaiah Stewart is recognized as one of the top 25 most impactful transfer portal additions making the transition to Power 5 football. The Wolverines’ transfer class is highly impressive, and with the inclusion of Stewart and other additions, Jim Harbaugh’s 2023 roster seems to be the strongest it has ever been during his nine-year tenure in Ann Arbor, MI.

Now, Michigan football will aim to put it all together on the field and push for the team’s first national championship since the 1997 season.
