Some moments are just too perfect. That’s how I would categorize the sign made by a Michigan football fan who I’m comfortable calling a legend.

Yes, I’m talking about the Michigan football fan made famous on social media Saturday night with his epic sign at Wrestlemania reminding Ohio State fans, and the world really, just how long it has been since Michigan football has lost to Ohio State.

Michigan football owns Ohio State

1,589 days. Well, 1,590 now. But who’s counting?

Since the event was held in Philly, that’s freaking awesome to see a Michigan sign there but not surprising. U-M has the greatest fanbase in the world. Just look at the Big House when Michigan football is playing — there isn’t another stadium like it.

However, it’s a hilarious reminder of the Wolverines’ recent dominance in the rivalry. Michigan football has won three straight games for the first time since 1995-1997, a run that also ended with a national championship.

The streak ended the next season, in Tom Brady’s first season as a starter. However, Captain Comeback led the Wolverines to a come-from-behind win over Ohio State in 1999, before Anthony Thomas and Drew Henson led Michigan football to a road win in Columbus in 2000.

That was the last road win until 2022, when J.J. McCarthy accounted for four touchdowns and Donovan Edwards crushed the dreams of Buckeye nation with his two long touchdown runs. We also can’t forget how Hassan Haskins, Aidan Hutchinson, and David Ojabo bullied Ohio State in 2021.

It’s been a great three years for the Wolverines. The 2019 season was the last time Michigan lost “The Game” and while Ohio State will be formidable this season, the number of days since their last win will only grow, at least until November.
