Tonight, Michigan football will face Minnesota on the road for their third conference matchup of the season. The Wolverines have won the last three battles for the Little Brown Jug and are currently 18-point favorites to win tonight. To make matters worse for the Golden Gophers, star running back Darius Taylor is now expected to be a game-time injury decision.
Minnesota star running back Darius Taylor is a game-time decision for tonight’s matchup
Earlier today, College Gameday insider Pete Thamel revealed that Minnesota’s leading rusher Darius Taylor may be out for tonight’s game due to injury. This could be a huge loss to a run-heavy team like Minnesota who have run the ball on 61.56 percent of offensive plays this season.
So far this season, Taylor has rushed for 532 yards from 87 carries with four touchdowns. His longest rush of the season was an impressive 43-yard touchdown after breaking through contact at the line of scrimmage.
The Michigan football defense has been nothing short of dominant so far this season. Minnesota football has relied heavily on their star tailback through the first five weeks of the season but the Golden Gophers offense may need to show more versatility if they want a shot at taking down Michigan.
Kickoff in Minneapolis is set for 7:30 PM EST. The game will be streamed on NBC Sports and Peacock.
