Ahead of Monday’s national title bout between the No. 1 Wolverines and the No. 2 Washington Huskies, major Michigan football NIL news broke for the Maize and Blue. With rival teams — perhaps Ohio State, Michigan State, Penn State, and more — reportedly coming after Michigan star players in hopes of getting them to enter the transfer portal, Champions Circle Collective decided to announce a new fund: the “Those Who Stay” campaign.

Michigan football NIL collective raises hundreds of thousands of dollars in new campaign

In less than one hour, Michigan football fans raised over $50,000 in funds for the “Those Who Stay” campaign, which looks to raise funding for current Wolverines who are being pursued by rival schools.

Right now, tampering is rampant in college football — that much is clear. With other teams, including many of Michigan’s rivals, reportedly tempting U-M players to enter the transfer portal, Michigan’s own Champions Circle Collective took action with its latest NIL campaign.

“Last year, Champions Circle launched the One More Year Fund to support key Michigan players like Blake Corum, Trevor Keegan, and Zak Zinter who elected to return to Michigan for One More Year,” reads Friday’s announcement. “Now, we’re launching the Those Who Stay NIL Campaign. Our rivals are coming after many of our key players, trying to induce them to leave Michigan. It’s time for Michigan Family to show our players how much we appreciate them and want them back in Maize and Blue!”

This morning, the collective is trending towards raising over $250,000 in funds just hours into the campaign’s launch — an impressive move for Michigan football NIL efforts, to say the least.

So, as the Wolverines gear up for the national title game on Monday, all appears to be trending in the right direction on the home front as major NIL strides are taken heading into the 2024 season.
