Ohio State football fans have been celebrating their “offseason championship” and the Buckeyes got to see some of the fruits of their labor on Tuesday as spring practices got underway, much to the enjoyment of Michigan football fans (click here for the Quote tweets)

Ohio State quarterbacks struggle against air

The Buckeyes opened spring practice on Tuesday and one Ohio State reporter posted a video of the Ohio State quarterbacks. The results were comical. It was just one practice and throwing session. Still, Will Howard the expected starting quarterack, missed a couple of out routes against air.

It’s funny because Ohio State fans tried to bash Michigan football QB J.J. McCarthy last weekend for missing one throw at the NFL combine. They continue to say McCarthy was an “average” quarterback even though he’s now trending as a top-three pick following an “amazing” performance.

Howard, who transferred away from Kansas State after it was made clear that Avery Johnson would start, looked exactly what you’d think a former Kansas State backup would look like.

Of course, Ohio State fans were using this throwing session to celebrate their offseason even more. But after seeing their thoughts on Michigan football quarterback J.J. McCarthy, it’s not a surprise that Buckeye fans see this throwing session as a positive, even as U-M fans see nothing to be worried about.

It does seem as though the big advantage Ohio State was supposed to have at quarterback is overstated. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have pegged a former Big 12 backup as their starter.

As Sherrone Moore said, this will all be settled in November. But after the Buckeyes ran off their starter, both Michigan football and Ohio State have QB questions to answer before the fall.
