Michigan baseball (32-19, 15-12 Big Ten) has one more series before the regular season comes to a close, and it comes at home against Indiana this weekend. The schools haven’t played since the Hoosiers took two of three from the Wolverines to end the 2024 regular season.

Indiana (29-22) is just one game behind Michigan in the Big Ten standings (14-13), so the next three games could have heavy implications in the conference tournament seedings.

The Wolverines lost two of three to Nebraska last weekend before a matchup with Wisconsin-Milwaukee was canceled on Tuesday. Even so, Michigan moved into a tie for fifth place in the conference with Washington, and both schools are two games behind USC for fourth.

The Huskies and Trojans happen to square off this weekend, so the Big Ten standings could look much different next week.

With three games left in the regular season, Michigan has two players with a top-ten batting average in the conference: infielders Benny Casillas (1st; .408) and Mitch Voit (10th; .349). Casillas is also second in the Big Ten in hits (75) and doubles (18).

On the mound, the Wolverines have been led by Kurt Barr and David Lally Jr. Tate Carey has also provided quality innings, as he has a 1.59 ERA as a starter. Barr is ranked in the top-ten in the Big Ten in wins (six) and strikeouts (73). Lally Jr. leads the team with 69.2 innings pitched, and his two complete games is tied for most in the conference.

Michigan is 9-2 since getting swept by Iowa (April 18-20), and the Hoosiers are 6-1 since the Hawkeyes did the same to them (April 25-27). Depending on what happens with the USC-Washington series, Michigan could be seeded as high as fourth in the Big Ten tournament if it handles business this weekend.
