On Tuesday, Michigan football added another member to its 2023 coaching staff. This time, the Wolverines picked up Nick Gilbert as an offensive analyst this fall.
Nick Gilbert is a young coach, though he brings some solid experience to the table for Jim Harbaugh and his staff. In 2020, Gilbert saw time at the University of Memphis as an offensive quality control analyst, as well as working with running backs and tight ends and dealing with scouting and recruiting.
In 2021, Gilbert saw more offensive action as the offensive line coach of the Idaho Vandals — he has also seen the action as an offensive line coach at Louisville and worked with Idaho as a graduate assistant for the first few years of his coaching career. Most recently, Gilbert served at the University of Colorado throughout the 2022 season as an offensive quality control analyst that worked explicitly with Colorado’s offensive line.
An additional fun fact about Nick Gilbert is that he played high school football with Mike Hart — the Wolverines’ all-time leading rusher and current running backs coach.
Gilbert is the most recent staff addition in a busy week for the Jim Harbaugh-led Michigan football coaching staff. Though it is only Tuesday, Gilbert is already the second addition to the Wolverines’ 2023 staff this week. This first came yesterday afternoon when Michigan football re-hired Chris Partridge, who was an original member of Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan coaching staff. However, he departed after the Wolverines’ 9-4 season in 2019 for a position at Ole Miss.
Nick Gilbert is another solid addition to Michigan’s staff — the Wolverines are in good hands across the board this fall.
