As we turn the page from January to February, Michigan football and Jim Harbaugh remain in pursuit of the next generation of Wolverines. Right now, Harbaugh and Michigan have locked down a few solid names in the 2024 class, and from the looks of things, they could add another big name sometime soon.
Channing Goodwin — Providence Day High School (NC)
Right now, it appears that Michigan football is in the lead for four-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin. Goodwin is a 6-1, 165 lbs receiver from Providence Day High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Goodwin is a four-star overall receiver according to 247 Sports (three-star composite) and has a grade of 90 (0.8854 composite). Additionally, Goodwin is currently ranked as the No. 395 player nationally, the No. 53 receiver in his class, and the No. 12 player in North Carolina.
Michigan football appears to be in the lead
So far, there are two crystal balls for Channing Goodwin on 247 Sports; one from Sam Webb and one from Steve Lorenz (both have 100 percent accuracy in the 2024 class thus far). Both crystal balls for Goodwin have him landing at the University of Michigan come signing day — both have a confidence level of six (medium).
In the running with Michigan football are schools like Georgia Tech (ACC), NS State (ACC), Kentucky (SEC), North Carolina (ACC), and Louisville (ACC). Goodwin has a number of Power 5 offers to this point, but the Michigan Wolverines are the only Big Ten team to offer him.
So far, Michigan football has the No. 11 overall and No. 11 composite class for the 2024 recruiting cycle. The Wolverines have five hard commits to this point, four of which are 247 four-star recruits.
