This weekend, the Penn State-Ohio State game will be shown on FOX Big Noon Kickoff — the conference’s biggest game of the year so far. Right now, Penn State football is ranked No. 7, and Ohio State football is ranked No. 3; both teams are undefeated and have their eyes on the Big Ten title/College Football Playoff. Earlier today, we gathered some thoughts from Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore — the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator — on whether he will be watching the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes come Saturday.
Michigan football coach comments on Penn State-Ohio State game
Michigan football has a tough test ahead of it this weekend — the Wolverines must go on the road a knock off a bitter in-state rival: the Michigan State Spartans. That said, a few hours before Michigan hits the field on Saturday, another massive rivalry game will be held in Columbus, OH.
This year’s Penn State-Ohio State game is one of the most hyped matchups in the sport and has the potential to be a deciding factor in the College Football Playoff and Big Ten title races later this fall. For Michigan football offensive play-caller Sherrone Moore, Michigan State is his top priority; however, he says that he will have an eye out for the Nittany Lions and Buckeyes in the earlier hours of game day.
“Coach (Jim Harbaugh) always says don’t get emotionally involved in those games,” Sherrone Moore said of the Penn State-Ohio State game. “I won’t get emotionally involved, but I’ll get visually involved. Always have a plan for those teams when those come, but (I’m) just focused on Michigan State.”
Sherrone Moore adds more on Michigan State matchup
Additionally, Sherrone Moore knows that Michigan State is ready to throw everything that it’s got at Michigan football this weekend — that is simply the nature of the rivalry.
“Everyone understands the rivalry, but we got to prepare like we’ve been preparing,” he said. “We know that they (MSU) are gonna give us everything they’ve got, and we’re gonna give them everything that we’ve got. So it’s another game for us that we got to go out there and prepare like we have been, and practice like we have been to play at the highest level possible, so we can continue to get better.”
Michigan football and Michigan State will begin at 7:30 PM in East Lansing, just a few hours after Penn State football and Ohio State football wrap up their matchup at The Shoe in Columbus.
