This year, Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore will be taking over as the Wolverines’ full-time play-caller after former QB coach and co-OC Matt Weiss was relieved following the 2022 season. Moore has been a pivotal part of Michigan’s incredible turnaround, going from 2-4 in 2020 to winning back-to-back Big Ten championships.
Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is one of the best coaches in college football
All Michigan football fans know that Sherrone Moore is one of the top coaches in college football and will prove it as the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator during the 2023 season. This fall, the Maize and Blue appear poised to dominate most, if not all, of their opponents in the regular season. In fact, if history repeats itself, Michigan will be seeking more blowout wins over programs like Michigan State, Penn State, and Ohio State en route to a Big Ten East title.
According to Steve Wiltfong, Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore is among the nation’s best recruiters and coaches, and should be a top name in Northwestern’s new coaching search.
“Moore is one of the premier coaches and recruiters in the country,” Steve Wiltfong said. “He’s a winner as a player and as a coach, helping Oklahoma win a couple of Big 12 titles on its offensive line before jumping into coaching, where he was part of some of the best years at Louisville and now at Michigan where he has been a prominent part in helping this program advance to two straight College Football Playoffs after winning the Big Ten each year.”
There has been no indication that Michigan football and Sherrone Moore are close to splitting up ahead of the 2023 season, although many top outlets have identified the Wolverines’ offensive coordinator as a major person of interest in Northwestern’s new coaching search. For now, Sherrone Moore remains a valuable asset on the Wolverines’ coaching staff, showcasing his dominance as a play-caller and as a recruiter.
As Michigan football pursues the 2023-24 national championship, there is no one better suited to lead the Wolverines’ offense than Sherrone Moore, and this fact is recognized across the country.
