The Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 3 nationally, only behind the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Georgia Bulldogs in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. This week, two sought-after recruits (that are both expected to commit to Michigan football) will announce their commitment — if both choose the Wolverines, Jim Harbaugh’s class will become the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. Despite signing a lower-ranked class in 2023, Jim Harbaugh is back and hitting the recruiting trail harder than we have ever seen before ahead of the 2023 season.

Thus far, Michigan football has 12 players committed in the 2024 recruiting class. Tomorrow, four-star tight end target Brady Prieskorn will announce his commitment — he has three crystal ball projections to commit to Jim Harbaugh’s squad.

Later this week, offensive like target Jake Guarnera — who has four crystal ball projections to commit to Michigan football — will also announce his commitment. If both of these 2024 recruits choose the Maize and Blue as expected — assuming OSU and UGA don’t pick up any more commits in between, Michigan’s recruiting class will overtake the Ohio State Buckeyes for the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation.

In this scenario, which appears likely at the moment, Michigan football would have a 233.12 composite score as opposed to Ohio State’s 229.74. Georgia would be in third with 211.53.
