Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards are arguably the two best running backs in all of college football. With Edwards currently excelling as a wide receiver as well, the thought of these two elite skill players being on the field at the same time for the Michigan football offense is thrilling. According to Edwards, who addressed the media this morning, there is a good chance that we could see this elite duo taking reps on offense at the same time throughout the coming season.

Michigan football offense could play Donovan Edwards, Blake Corum at the same time

Donovan Edwards and Blake Corum are arguably two of the best players in all of college football, though they never see the field at the same time since they are both running backs. That said, Donovan Edwards says that he could be one of the best pass-catchers in the game right now, opening the door for more creative offensive packages for the Wolverines throughout the coming season.

Earlier today, Edwards was asked about the Michigan football offense and if the team’s elite RB duo could share some reps on the field this fall.

“Absolutely,” Edwards said. “I will hope so. You know, that’s the coaches’ plan. I don’t want to say anything too specific, but I hope so. It’ll be like, you know, you can’t cover me and Blake (Corum) at the same time. You got to pick and choose — pick and choose the matchup that you want to lose in.”

With two Heisman contender-caliber players on the field at the same time, as well as junior quarterback JJ McCarthy, the best tight ends in the country, and an elite offensive line, this year’s offense is a reason for excitement. Throughout the coming season, keep an eye on Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, and the rest of this year’s Michigan football stars because it sounds like Jim Harbaugh might be looking to shuffle some things up.
