Last week, we had the chance to speak with all six Michigan football captains ahead of the 2023 season, including running back Blake Corum and cornerback Mike Sainristil. Last year, Corum went down with an injury in Week 12 — something that he says has since healed — which turned into a question for Sainristil. Has Corum’s injury impacted his role as a leader in Ann Arbor?

How did Blake Corum injury impact his role with Michigan football?

Michigan football needs its veteran leaders to step up a lot this year — especially players like Blake Corum and Mike Sainristil, who have long taken on a leadership role in Ann Arbor. So, how did Corum’s injury and recovery impact his role?

“He (Blake Corum) interacted with everybody,” Michigan football captain Mike Sainristil said of Corum. “We’re his teammates; we’re his brothers. I would say that injury allowed him to view things from a different perspective; if anything, I can’t speak from his experience. But I guess my viewpoint of it would be that it allowed him to maybe appreciate the game a little bit more. I feel like he may have realized like, ‘You know what, I didn’t get the chance to capitalize on what I wanted to do.’”

Mike Sainristil continues

Mike Sainristil didn’t speak directly for Blake Corum, but he did chime in a few of his own thoughts.

“I’m not speaking for him, but if I was him, I would say, ‘I didn’t get the chance to capitalize on what I could have done individually, and I feel like I have more, the team has more left in them, and I want to come back and show what we’re capable of,” Sainristil said. “And I want to lead these guys, I want to help these guys get there.’ And that’s me speaking if I was Blake; that’s not me speaking for Blake.”

For the first time since mid-November of 2022, Blake Corum is set to return to the Michigan football sideline in just six days for the Wolverines’ season opener against East Carolina. Vendre une voiture export accidentée sans controle technique, rachat de voiture hs www.rachatvotrevoiture.com
