Next weekend, the Michigan State Spartans, led by Mel Tucker, will host one of the highly-ranked prospects targeted by Jim Harbaugh and his second-ranked 2024 recruiting class. Michigan football fans should keep a close watch on East Lansing as Jeremiah Beasley, who is heavily favored to join the Maize and Blue, will be on an official visit with the Spartans.
Official visit season is here, Michigan football fans
The official visit season is the most crucial period for Michigan football recruiting for the 2024 class. Currently, the Wolverines boast 17 hard commitments and are ranked among the nation’s top teams, securing the second spot just behind the two-time national champion, Georgia Bulldogs.
Conversely, Mel Tucker and the Spartans have been facing a series of setbacks recently. After a challenging 5-7 season, their program has struggled both on the football field and in the recruiting rankings. However, next weekend presents an opportunity for the Spartans to change their fortunes as they welcome Jeremiah Beasley for his official visit.
Mel Tucker and Michigan State looking to turn things around
Although it’s unlikely that Beasley will deviate from his strong interest in Michigan, it’s worth noting that Michigan State ranks second in the RPM odds, making it an intriguing prospect for Michigan football fans to keep an eye on.
Jeremiah Beasley is still considering a handful of teams, all of which will compete for his commitment this month. As a four-star in-state prospect, both the Wolverines and the Spartans are strong contenders. Nevertheless, Michigan football fans can feel confident as Jim Harbaugh holds a 95.3% chance of securing his commitment. The Wolverines will have an excellent opportunity to solidify their position during Beasley’s official visit to Ann Arbor on June 16th, the weekend after he makes the trip to East Lansing.
According to the Industry Rankings, Jeremiah Beasley is a highly regarded four-star in-state recruit, ranked as the 28th-best linebacker in the 2024 class and the 6th-best player in the state of Michigan.
