Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito and head coach Sherrone Moore played an important role in bringing Patterson to Ann Arbor. The 6-foot-3 240 pound defensive lineman was in the house for the MSU game, and he wasn’t the only one impressed.

“I think the atmosphere at the game that night when they played Michigan State was second to none. From the crowd to the team,” Patterson’s father told On3.

“The visit has been amazing. “The culture has been very impressive. You can tell why players commit here.”

Michigan had a whole host of recruits on the sidelines for the game against the Spartans. It was a night game at Michigan Stadium, which is a setting unlike any other in college football.

“The Big House exceeded expectations,” Patterson’s father said. “It was the loudest arena we’ve ever been in. The fans are passionate and love their team. The program is something special and it’s definitely high on the list.”

Patterson was also considering USC, Penn State and more.
