This weekend is the most important on the Big Ten calendar and perhaps even the most important in college football. On Saturday, at the Big House in Ann Arbor, MI, 3rd-ranked Michigan football (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) and the 2nd-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0) will face off for all the marbles: a trip to the conference title game, a likely CFP spot, and more. ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum, who is known for bashing the Wolverines and Jim Harbaugh, had a strong take on “The Game” this week, stating that it would be “justice” if the Buckeyes managed to get it done.
ESPN analyst sides with Ohio State against Michigan football
Many analysts are picking Michigan football to beat Ohio State this weekend, as are Las Vegas odds makers, the ESPN Football Power Index, and more. On Saturday, it will finally be time to stop talking about the Wolverines and Buckeyes as they will settle everything on the field in “The Game.”
With time running out to take shots at Michigan football ahead of the Ohio State game, ESPN analyst and SEC Network talking head Paul Finebaum had the chance to continue his public shots at U-M and Jim Harbaugh.
“I had a conversation with a former Heisman Trophy winner at Michigan a couple of days ago,” ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum said. “He was telling me on TV about ‘recruiting (and) all the great players.’ Well, they (Michigan) have a lot of great players. But, you know what? So does Ohio State.
“There has to be a reason,” Finebaum added. “There has to be an explanation of why Ohio State has looked so poor. … It would be great. It would be justice if Ohio State went in there and (beat the Wolverines this weekend),” Finebaum said. “That would be the clearest indication of what I know a lot of your fans believe in Ohio: that Michigan cannot win this game honestly.”
Wolverines and Buckeyes ready to settle things on the field
At this point, Paul Finebaum really isn’t hiding anything or pulling punches — he seems to be openly rooting against Michigan football and feeding into Ohio State narratives heading into “The Game.” Still, regardless of what he or anyone else at ESPN, on Twitter, or otherwise has to say, the No. 3 Wolverines and No. 2 Buckeyes will settle everything on the field this Saturday at noon (ET).
