The Michigan Wolverines and head coach Jim Harbaugh are losing several talented players after the 2023 season, which is nearly at its end. Still, as seen in years past, the Maize and Blue may dive into the transfer portal to replenish their roster heading into 2024. On Friday evening, it was reported that Michigan football has a new transfer target: Trey Moore of the UTSA Roadrunners, one of the most coveted targets nationally, is in contact with the Wolverines.

Michigan football is in contact with major transfer portal target, per reports

Per an update from Hayes Fawcett of On3, Michigan football and top-ranked transfer portal target Trey Moore (UTSA) are in contact. That being said, Michigan is far from being the only team interested in Moore; in fact, Fawcett reports that a whopping 53 schools have contacted Moore thus far, Michigan included.

Michigan football will likely lose some edge rusher talent after the current season; however, the Wolverines could reasonably retain names like Braiden McGregor, Josaiah Stewart, and more. Simultaneously, many feel players like Jaylen Harrell will opt for the NFL Draft this spring.

Per the transfer portal rankings, Trey Moore is the No. 12 overall player and the No. 3 edge rusher available in the portal right now. While Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football are interested and in contact with the sophomore edge rusher, Texas is the early favorite to land Moore’s commitment all said and done.
