PASADENA — We are less than an hour away from kickoff at the Rose Bowl game between the Michigan Wolverines and Alabama Crimson Tide. Just now, today’s Michigan football injury report was released, and it features two Wolverines: Zak Zinter and DJ Waller.
Michigan football injury report vs Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl
It has been nearly 20 years since Michigan football last appeared in the Rose Bowl, and nearly 30 since the Wolverines won it. Of course, Michigan’s last Rose Bowl win came in 1997, which turned out to be the team’s most recent national championship. Today, Michigan is mostly healthy, though two names appeared on the injury report before facing the Alabama Crimson Tide at 5:00 PM (ET).
Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter, an All-American guard for Michigan football, suffered a season-ending injury during the team’s 30-24 victory over No. 2 Ohio State back in November. Zinter has gotten surgery since then, and as most fans know, will not play another down this season.
DJ Waller
DJ Waller — a freshman standout cornerback — is also on the injury report; however, unlike Zinter, Waller’s status is currently “questionable.” Before the game, the team’s five-time Defensive Freshman of the Week honoree was seen in street clothes, though it remains to be seen if Waller will take the field this afternoon or not.
Other than Zak Zinter and DJ Waller, Michigan football appears mostly healthy for today’s Rose Bowl against the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide.
