The success of the Michigan football program over the past two college football seasons has allowed Jim Harbaugh to put together one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 recruiting class is already ranked No. 2 in the nation, and the Wolverines are still trending to land a number of high-level recruits, such as Michael Uini.

Michael Uini puts Michigan football recruiting in top-6

Just yesterday, four-star offensive tackle Michael Uini announced his top six schools list.

Michigan made the top six list alongside Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, and Texas. Of those schools, all except for Texas have official visits scheduled. Uini will officially visit Ann Arbor on June 16th.

Uini currently plays tackle for Copperas Cove High School in Texas. His 6-foot-7, 290-pound frame makes him an elite target for coaches around the nation, which explains the immense national interest in his recruitment thus far. 247 Sports Composite rankings currently list Uini as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the country.

Michigan football would be a great match

While it may be colder than his other options, the current Michigan football recruiting class would be a great fit for Uini. The Wolverines develop offensive linemen at an elite level, with their most recent offensive lines winning back-to-back Joe Moore awards. Uini’s size and strength paired with Michigan’s coaching could create another dominant piece of the Wolverines’ offensive line.

With many of Uini’s official visits still yet to happen, it’s hard to get a clear read of which school is currently the front-runner. As of today, there are no crystal balls surrounding Uini’s commitment.
