Michigan football projected to land top-100 QB in 2026

There was some quarterback movement over the weekend and Michigan football is now in a great position to land Brady Hart, a top-100 QB.

Notre Dame landed the commitment of 2026 quarterback Noah Grubbs this weekend. Grubbs was a target of Michigan football, but even though the Wolverines missed on Grubbs, it could end up as a positive for the Wolverines.

That’s because with Grubbs committed to Notre Dame, the door has opened for Michigan football with another quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class — Brady Hart.

We have talked about Hart before. He’s visiting Michigan football in June. He also has the perfect name to be a Wolverines quarterback with the first name Brady and the last name Hart.

However, Hart, who is 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, is ranked 95th overall in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He’s also ranked eighth among quarterbacks in 2026 and before Grubbs committed to Notre Dame, the Irish felt like the favorite.

Hart was even projected to the Irish by Steve Wiltfong of On3.com, as well as some other Notre Dame insiders. Now, Mike Singer, a Notre Dame recruiting expert, has projected Hart to land with Michigan football but used a 10/100 confidence when entering his pick for the On3 prediction machine.

(UPDATE: We corrected this to reflect a 10/100 confidence, not 10/10)

Predictions aren’t commitments and the low confidence shows there is plenty of uncertainty. But this is a good sign for Michigan football. Hart is building a strong relationship with Kirk Campbell, and the Wolverines now feel like a team to beat for the four-star quarterback from Cocoa, Florida.

Michigan just landed a quarterback commitment from Florida in Carter Smith. Hart could be next and his visit to Ann Arbor this month will be telling. He’s not the only top-100 quarterback visiting Michigan this month though, so even if U-M is the favorite according to some, the Wolverines still have to make the push for a commitment.
