The past week or so has been a fun time for Michigan football fans who follow recruiting. After getting ridiculed for months about a lack of commitments, the Wolverines landed four within a week.
Three of those came in the 2025 recruiting class. Another, the commitment from elite QB Brady Hart, came in the 2026 class. Regardless, there were two top-100 commitments and another quarterback of the future, who was offered by Ohio State one day before his commitment to Michigan football.
We’ll see if Hart gives Michigan a boost in the 2026 class. There is plenty of buzz about his commitment. But in 2025, there is some positive buzz about a few top targets.
Michigan football trending for a trio of 2025 targets
Phillip Wright is a three-star wideout who just visited officially over the weekend. He’s a track athlete with tremendous upside. Georgia Tech and Georgia are both in the mix. Wright is supposed to visit Georgia this weekend but if that visit doesn’t happen, Michigan football should win out and Wright was projected to land with the Wolverines by EJ Holland of The Wolverine.com on Tuesday.
The three-star wideout is ranked 405 overall according to the On3 Industry rankings. The Wolverines have also started trending with blue-chip offensive lineman Hardy Watts.
Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider logged a crystal ball predicting the four-star offensive lineman from Brookline, Massachusetts would commit to the Wolverines. Watts just got a crystal ball to Clemson but is visiting Michigan football this weekend. Holland also projected Watts to U-M.
Holland also sees Michigan as the team to beat for three-star offensive line target Kaden Strayhorn. The Michigan State legacy recruit is ranked 463 overall according to the On3 Industry rankings and plays for IMG Academy. The Wolverines have been recruiting him as a center and they are now the favorite to land him too.
U-M has also maintained its lead for D-line prospect Maxwell Roy. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder visited Ohio State last weekend, but the Wolverines still have a 95-percent chance to win his commitment according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
