Will former Michigan football quarterback JJ McCarthy become the Wolverines’ first QB prospect to be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft since Jim Harbaugh did so in the 1980s? That remains to be seen; however, Notre Dame legend and college football voice Brady Quinn thinks that it’s absolutely on the table.
Michigan football quarterback should be a top-10 NFL Draft pick, says Notre Dame legend
During his two seasons as Michigan’s starting quarterback, JJ McCarthy led the Maize and Blue to a 27-1 overall record and won back-to-back Big Ten titles, a Rose Bowl, and a national title. Now, the ex-Michigan QB is going to try his hand at the NFL’s ranks, and many are pinning him as a first-round NFL Draft pick.
If you ask former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, a top college football analyst right now, where JJ McCarthy falls among this year’s NFL Draft class, the answer is simple: he is a top-10 pick.
“To me, (JJ McCarthy) is going to end up being a top-10 pick when it’s all said and done,” Quinn said. “I think teams are going to love his ability to create and his ability to take off and run, too.”
JJ McCarthy gunning for some program history in April
Other NFL mock drafts also have the former Michigan football quarterback going in the first-round, though few agree on what team will take him. Still, it looks like McCarthy could make some program history this spring, and draft day should be a fun one for Wolverines fans.
