I may have to be the bearer of bad news today, Michigan football fans. Earlier this afternoon, 247 Sports released two new crystal balls for two of the Wolverines’ top recruits.

Davison Igbinosun — an All-American transfer portal target — received a crystal ball to commit to Ohio State. Meanwhile, Nyckoles Harbor — a five-star athlete prospect — received a crystal ball to South Carolina.

Both players have been significant prospects that Jim Harbaugh and Co. were pushing to land, but from the looks of things, neither will be wearing the Winged Helmet this fall.

Nyckoles Harbor receives crystal ball to South Carolina

Before today, Harbor had one crystal ball for South Carolina on 247; however, that was placed back in late August of 2022. Now, he has a second; this time, it’s from South Carolina insider Tony Morrell.

Harbor is a five-star athlete in the 2023 cycle and was high up on Michigan’s big board for some time; in fact, it appeared as if the Wolverines were in the lead to land his commitment not long ago.

Davison Igbinoson is also high on the Wolverines’ recruiting board; however, unlike Harbor, Igbinosun is coming from the transfer portal. Michigan football could afford to bulk up its cornerback room — perhaps the Wolverines’ only weak point right now — but it appears that Igbinosun will not be heading to Ann Arbor.

Over the weekend, Igbinosun visited Ohio State (Saturday) and Michigan football (Sunday) on consecutive days as he searched for a new home. As a freshman in 2022, Igbinosun received All-America honors and has been a meaningful name to watch this offseason.

No one is quite sure where Igbinosun or Harbor will end up just yet, but things are not looking up for the Wolverines on the recruiting trail of either player right now.
