Michigan football recruiting has been generating significant buzz lately, instilling fear across the nation, as Jim Harbaugh and his team steadily progress towards clinching the team’s first national title since 1997. With two Big Ten titles under their belt, two playoff appearances, and more accomplishments to their name, the Wolverines have further solidified their position by securing the No. 1 recruiting class thus far. The program is now focused on securing the commitment of a few more highly sought-after five-star recruits during official visit season.
In an exciting development, Justin Scott, a five-star defensive lineman and one of the top 10 recruits in the nation according to ON3, has recently confirmed his official visit to Michigan. This news carries immense significance for Michigan football, as the coaching staff aims to safeguard their top-ranking recruiting class.
Michigan football recruiting to host major five-star defender on official visit
Justin Scott has emerged as one of the most highly coveted recruits in the current market, attracting offers from numerous top-tier programs, all competing for his commitment. In a recent announcement, Scott revealed the official visits he will be taking, and Michigan football has successfully made the cut.
As per Scott’s announcement, he has scheduled a visit to Michigan from June 9th to 11th, making it his second visit following a trip to see Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs. Notably, Scott will be heading to Ann Arbor before visiting Columbus and Miami, which will be his final two stops on his visit tour.
According to the ON3 rankings, Scott holds the impressive accolades of being the No. 8 overall recruit in the nation, the No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2024 class, and the top-ranked recruit in Illinois. Currently, Miami is listed as the leader in his recruitment according to the RPM rankings; however, Michigan remains firmly in the mix as one of the top-four contenders.
It is important to note that visit season often has a significant impact on recruits’ decisions, potentially leading to changes in their final choices.
