On April 12th, the Wolverines hosted an important visitor on a recruiting visit in Ann Arbor. Elite linebacker Brayden Platt — a top 10 LB in the 2024 recruiting class — was impressed by the Wolverines on his visit last week, enough to include Michigan as one of eight finalists in his recruitment.

Brayden Platt, a 247 Sports four-star linebacker, is one of the top defensive targets for Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan football program on the 2024 recruiting trail. Platt is a native of Yelm, Washington, and attends Yelm High School — despite being a west coast target, he has some interest in a couple of Midwest programs, such as Notre Dame and Michigan football.

This week, Platt revealed his top-8 schools and the Wolverines made the cut along with some elite company. The final remaining schools for Brayden Platt are Michigan, Notre Dame, Miami, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.

Rankings and more info

According to 247 Sports, Brayden Platt is a massive 6-foot-2, 240-pound linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class. He is a four-star composite recruit, and 247 ranks him as the No. 91 recruit in the class, the No. 9 linebacker, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Washington.

With Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class already looking elite, landing another top-tier defensive standout (from the west coast) would be another massive step in the right direction for Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff this cycle.
