Next weekend, the recruiting dead period will lift for Michigan football recruiting. To celebrate, the Wolverines are hosting the program’s annual ‘BBQ at the Big House’ event in Ann Arbor and will have many of the nation’s top recruits on campus. One of these top targets is 2025 in-state prospect Avery Gach, who has emerged as a major prospect for both Michigan and Michigan State football.

Avery Gach is a top target for Michigan football recruiting in the class of 2025; he is the 2nd-ranked player in the state and is garnering all kinds of local and national attention. For Michigan and Michigan State, landing Gach has become a top priority, and with him visiting Ann Arbor next week, the Wolverines have a huge opportunity to make a valuable early impression on this four-star in-state prospect.

Michigan, Michigan State lead the way right now

According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football recruiting currently leads in Gach’s recruitment; however, Michigan State football is close behind, boasting the 2nd-best odds of any team. Also in the mix is Ryan Day’s Ohio State Buckeyes, coming in 3rd place thus far.

When Gach gets to campus next week, expect Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football to go all-out in an attempt to lock this elite prospect down in the upcoming 2025 recruiting cycle. Michigan currently ranks 7th in the 2025 class, indicating that the Wolverines may be building yet another elite class in pursuit of a national title down the road.

Rankings and more for Gach

Per the ON3 industry recruiting rankings, Avery Gach is a four-star offensive lineman out of Franklin, MI. He ranks as the No. 177 player in the nation, the No. 9 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 2 player in the state of Michigan. This weekend, the Wolverines could take an even greater lead over Michigan State in his recruitment, establishing themselves as a top contender down the road when it comes time to commit.
