Last weekend, Michigan football recruiting hosted top 100 prospect Bryce West, a major target for Ohio State in the 2024 recruiting class, on an official visit. Currently, the Buckeyes are the clear favorite to land this talented four-star recruit; however, the visit reportedly went well, and the Wolverines seem to be making an impression on the blue-chip cornerback.
Michigan football recruiting gunning for major Ohio State target
Bryce West is one of the most sought-after recruits in the 2024 cycle, and being a native of Cleveland, it’s no surprise that the Buckeyes are heavily favored to secure his talents in the end. That being said, things appear to be heating up on the recruiting trail, and the Maize and Blue are not out of the race just yet.
Over the weekend, Michigan football recruiting hosted Bryce West, along with a few other major targets, for the second wave of official visits in Ann Arbor, MI. According to new reports, the Wolverines impressed West during his multi-day official visit, and they may still have some momentum to build on.
According to Bryce West himself, his official visit with Michigan football went great, and he is a big fan of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who has been impressive on the recruiting trail this cycle. Currently, the Maize and Blue have the nation’s 2nd-ranked recruiting class, trailing only the Georgia Bulldogs. If the Maize and Blue can somehow pry this blue-chip cornerback from Ryan Day’s grasp, it would likely be the biggest recruiting win (or one of the top wins) of Jim Harbaugh’s tenure thus far.
All signs pointing OSU, but the Maize and Blue are still in the race
Michigan football recruiting has not yet secured Bryce West, and all signs still point mostly to the Scarlet and Grey; however, the Wolverines are certainly making an impact with West and pose a significant threat to Ohio State’s chances of landing him.
According to the ON3 rankings, Bryce West is a four-star target ranked just outside the top 50 nationally, coming in at No. 52 in the class. He is also ranked as the No. 7 cornerback in the cycle and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Ohio. Keep an eye on this major target, Michigan football fans, because the race is not finished just yet.
