Earlier this week, on Friday evening, the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class landed another commitment; this time, the Wolverines’ picked up Cole Sullivan, a three-star linebacker out of Pennsylvania. Here is everything you need to know about Jim Harbaugh’s latest pick-up.

Who is Cole Sullivan?

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Cole Sullivan is a highly regarded three-star composite linebacker recruit in the 2024 recruiting class. His exceptional abilities have earned him a spot among the top 600 recruits nationwide and the top 60 linebackers in the country. Furthermore, he is ranked as the 16th-best recruit in the state of Pennsylvania, showcasing his talent and promising future.

Sullivan’s commitment adds to the already impressive recruiting efforts of the Michigan football program. With the top-ranked class in the nation, the Wolverines are constructing a formidable roster for the upcoming season. Led by Jim Harbaugh, the team shows no signs of slowing down and continues to attract more recruits through summer visits and other opportunities to strengthen their recruiting endeavors.

At an impressive height of 6-foot-3 and weighing over 200 pounds, Sullivan possesses a physical presence that will undoubtedly make an impact on Michigan’s defense. Despite receiving interest from other reputable regional programs like Notre Dame and Wisconsin, Sullivan ultimately chose Michigan football, a testament to the program’s appeal and its potential for success.

Rankings and ratings for the newest member of the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class

Here is where Cole Sullivan ranks according to all three major recruiting services:

ON3: Three-star recruit; ranked No. 37 linebacker, and No. 10 recruit in Pennsylvania.

247 SPORTS: Three-star recruit; ranked No. 57 linebacker, No. 17 recruit in Pennsylvania.

RIVALS: Three-star recruit; ranked No. 34 linebacker, No. 17 recruit in Pennsylvania.

How does this impact Michigan’s class?

The Wolverines’ recruiting class currently holds the coveted No. 1 spot in the nation (composite rankings), with Ohio State and Georgia closely trailing at the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.

Cole Sullivan’s commitment marks Michigan’s 17th addition to the class. While it may not make a significant impact on paper, Sullivan is a valuable addition to the team, considering the number of major offers he received. Notably, Michigan managed to secure his commitment over his home state school, Penn State.
