Michigan football players who have been in the program for the past three years have won a lot of hardware. They are also leaving Ann Arbor with plenty of jewelry.
But on Saturday, they will get the crown jewel of their collection — their national championship rings — as Michigan football is holding its ring ceremony for last season on Saturday.
Blake Corum recently revealed this at a Detroit Tigers game when he threw out the first pitch. But on Saturday morning, Michigan football posted all four rings that will be handed out to players for their efforts during the 2024 season which included winning the Big Ten championship, the Rose Bowl, the national championship game, and of course, the College Football Playoff National Championship.
There were plenty of other great moments, such as the 49-0 win over Michigan State. The late touchdown by Alex Orji was actually one of my favorite plays of the entire 2023 season. The Rod Moore interception might be No. 1 though. The Mike Sainristil interception is right there, along with the Roman Wilson catch, the Blake Corum touchdown run against Alabama, and the fourth-down stop. It was such an incredible run for Michigan football. I’ve been a fan of this program for over 30 years and after the 1997 season, I wasn’t sure I’d ever see another team do what that one did.
Turns out, I did. We all did and on Saturday, we’ll get to celebrate that national championship team, along with the Michigan football spring game.
