For the past two years, Michigan football has been nothing short of dominant. The Wolverines have multiple star players on both offense and defense who are gearing up for another big season. These players are all freak athletes, and this is in large part due to the amazing strength and conditioning program that Michigan football is running. Recently, Michigan football star defensive tackle Kris Jenkins spoke about what the program means to the team.

Last year, Kris Jenkins had a breakout season, amassing 54 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. This fall, Jenkins will be entering his fourth season with the Wolverines and will be a huge part of Michigan’s defensive line.

Jenkins recently spoke on the second episode of Michigan Athletic’s Michigan Made series. For physical training, Jenkins said that “the strength staff we have here is unlike anything else at any other program. Every single day is insane and we love that.”

In addition to turning players into better athletes, Jenkins mentioned how the training program makes the players better people. “Coach Herb has a statement, ‘Let your actions speak so loudly that I can’t hear what you’re saying.’ They have shaped us into the men that we are today. Not only physically, but mentally,” said Jenkins.

He added, “They’ve taught us to be attentive to details and have passion in everything we do, regardless of how we’re feeling. We want to succeed, they want us to succeed, in all aspects. Not just in the weight room, not just on the football field, going to class, you know, everything– and that’s what makes them the best strength staff in the country.”
