Michigan Football Star Explains Impact Of Losing Jim Harbaugh

Does it really matter that much that Jim Harbaugh won’t be coaching Michigan football against Ohio State this weekend?

This weekend, when the undefeated Wolverines and undefeated Buckeyes — both 11-0 and ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in the latest CFP poll — take the field, U-M will be missing someone: 9th-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. That said, losing Harbaugh for game day may not be as big of a deal as some may think; in fact, on Tuesday, Michigan football star offensive lineman Trevor Keegan explained that not much changes for him as long as acting head coach and offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore is still on the sideline against Ohio State.

Can Michigan football beat No. 2 Ohio State without Jim Harbaugh this weekend? That remains to be seen, though there is undeniably everything at stake. With a trip to the Big Ten title game, a likely College Football Playoff spot, and much more hanging in the balance, Trevor Keegan seems pretty unconcerned with the fact that Harbaugh will not be in the Big House this Saturday.

“For me, nothing (changes), honestly,” the Michigan football star said Tuesday evening. “Maybe when we score, (Jim Harbaugh) comes up and high-fives us and stuff, but I really never see Coach Harbaugh during games. It’s really not much different.

“For other position groups, most definitely,” Trevor Keegan added. “But Coach (Sherrone) Moore — that’s really all I am talking to during the game.”

Harbaugh still involved in game prep for Ohio State

Per usual, while Jim Harbaugh will not be coaching Michigan football on game day, he is still wholly involved in game planning for Ohio State and more. So far, without Harbaugh on the sidelines, Michigan is 5-0, including a two-score win at No. 10 Penn State a few weeks ago.

With Sherrone Moore leading the way, it’s clear that Michigan football understands how to get where it wants to be and is not focused on losing Jim Harbaugh for this year’s matchup against the Buckeyes.
