Later tonight, Michigan football vs. Michigan State will kickoff in East Lansing for the Michigan “state championship.” Michigan State has numerous injured players going into tonight’s game which could have a major impact on the Spartans’ performance. While Michigan football has been getting healthier in recent weeks, there are still a couple of key Wolverines who will be out due to injury as well.

Michigan football vs. Michigan State injury report

Michigan State will certainly have to show off their depth if they want to have a chance at competing with the No. 2 ranked Michigan Wolverines. Here are some notable MSU injuries heading into tonight’s game.

  • Joseph Martinez — RB — Questionable
  • Jaden Mangham — DB — Questionable
  • Jordon Simmons — RB — Questionable
  • Jaren Mangham — RB — Out
  • Semar Melvin — DB — Out
  • Ma’a Gaoteote — LB — Out
  • Alex VanSumeren — DL — Out
  • Armorion Smith — DB — Out
  • Tyneil Hopper — TE — Out
  • Jacoby Windmon — LB — Out

While the Michigan football injury report is not nearly as long as MSU’s, the Wolverines do have a couple of key offensive players out for tonight’s game.

  • CJ Stokes — RB — Out
  • Kalel Mullings — RB — Questionable

Kalel Mullings has proven himself as a key RB3 for the Wolverines this year after switching positions from linebacker over the offseason. The Wolverines’ run game should still be in good shape with Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards leading the attack, but it will be interesting to see how Harbaugh approaches tonight’s game with his third and fourth-string running backs banged up.
