Michigan football’s Brady Hart is just scratching the surface

Michigan football QB commitment Brady Hart is a top-100 quarterback but he has a chance to be rated as a five-star recruit.

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the commitment of Brady Hart to Michigan football. The four-star quarterback had an impressive offer list that even included Ohio State.

Yet, a Facetime call with J.J. McCarthy helped sway Hart to choose the Wolverines. He’s ranked No. 92 overall and is the seventh-ranked quarterback in the 2026 class, however, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound passer has barely scratched the surface of his potential.

In his first season as a starter, not only did Hart lead his team to a state championship, he threw 41 touchdowns in the process. He’s got a strong arm, he’s accurate, and he’s only going to get better.

There’s a reason why Ohio State offered him after watching him throw earlier this week. Notre Dame was also in the mix along with Florida. Notre Dame took another quarterback though and this past weekend’s visit allowed Michigan football to close, especially after Hart got a look at the competition in Ohio.

Ohio State fans are trying to say Hart isn’t that great or whatever, but it’s classic denial. The Buckeyes wouldn’t have offered if they didn’t like Hart and you can’t blame them, the kid can play.

QB Guru says Brady Hart could be ranked No. 1 in 2026

According to Quarterback trainer Baylin Trujillo, Hart could end up as the No. 1 overall quarterback in his class.

“Could very well be the number one overall quarterback with the best resume when it’s all said and done in his high school career,” Trujillo said to Josh Henschke of the Maize and Blue review.

Steve Wiltfong also opined that Hart could wind up as a five-star prospect. He’s younger than the other 2026 quarterbacks Michigan football was recruiting and of all the quarterbacks U-M was interested in, he’s clearly got the most upside.

Heck, Hart could have as much upside as any quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. Jadyn Davis saw his ranking drop after his commitment to Michigan football, but with Hart, I think we’ll see the exact opposite.
