Thursday night, Michigan Football got a massive return for their offensive line as starting left guard Trevor Keegan announced on Instagram he will be returning for his fifth season next year. Here are Keegan’s statements on Michigan football and his decision to return for one more season:

For the past 4 years I’ve been surrounded with incredible individuals who have made a huge impact in my life. My time here at Michigan has allowed me to grow in so many aspects in life, on and off the field. My teammates and coaches have built a culture that is unbreakable and it’s been special to be a part of. I wouldn’t want these last 4 years to have gone any differently.

Making it to the NFL has been a dream of mine ever since I picked up a football. With a lot of thought and talking with those closest to me. There is more that I want to achieve personally and collectively as a team. Thrilled to get back to work with my teammates and get rolling. #GOBLUE”

Trevor Keegan has been a key piece of the Wolverines’ offensive line — one that has won 25 of the last 28 games, back-to-back wins vs Ohio State, Big Ten Championships and College Football Playoff appearances.

With Keegan’s return and incoming transfer offensive linemen — Drake Nugget (Stanford), Myles Hinton (Stanford) and LaDarius Henderson (Arizona State) — Michigan will once again vie for the top offensive line in all of college football. Keegan’s decision comes just hours after Jim Harbaugh and Santa Ono publicly shared mutual interest in bringing Harbaugh back for a ninth season in 2023, though it is not known to be directly related.

Regardless of Harbaugh’s decision, bringing Keegan back for one final season just increases Michigan’s chances of a third-straight conference title and CFP run.
