Coming off of last weekend’s bye, it sounds like things are starting to settle down for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines from a health standpoint. Last night, appearing on the ‘Inside Michigan Football‘ show with Jon Jansen, Harbaugh revealed some Michigan football injury news to keep an eye on regarding Mike Sainristil (cornerback) and Kris Jenkins (defensive tackle) heading into Week 10 against Purdue.

Yesterday evening, appearing on the ‘Inside Michigan football’ show — hosted by Jon Jansen — 9th-year Wolverine head coach Jim Harbaugh gave insight into two star players that have been battling injury as of late. While both were previously unable to handle a full week of practice, it sounds like things are starting to come around for Mike Sainristil and Kris Jenkins.

“What a tenacious warrior (Mike Sainristil) has been,” Jim Harbaugh said on Monday evening. “He played two or three games there with not being all the way to where he could practice all week and still play in the game. And he’s so good when he has a full week of practice under his belt.

“Kris Jenkins has been dominating,” Jim Harbaugh added, talking about his superstar defensive tackle. “He had the week last week where he didn’t get a full week of practice in either — (Michigan is) hoping that is (not) going to be the case now for this week.”

This weekend, against the Purdue Boilermakers, it sounds like Michigan football will have both Jenkins and Sainrsitil out there. While Purdue is not the toughest game Michigan has next month, the Boilermakers will be a good “tune-up” game before the Wolverines face Penn State and Ohio State later in the month — two games that will decide the outcome of this year’s Big Ten title race.
