This weekend is arguably the biggest day of sports in the Great Lakes State — it’s the annual Michigan State vs. Michigan football game. While the two teams could not be further apart in standing, this weekend’s night game in East Lansing is shaping up to be a good one; in fact, according to MSU star Dillon Tatum — an ex-four-star prospect and current sophomore defensive back for the Spartans — the Spartans are about to turn their season around.

MSU star says Michigan State will beat Michigan football

Dillon Tatum was a major recruiting win for Michigan State — the former in-star four-star defender chose the Spartans back in September of 2021 during Mel Tucker’s lone winning season in East Lansing. This week, leading up to the Michigan football rivalry matchup on Saturday, Tatum called his shot, stating that Michigan State will beat the Wolverines this weekend.

“You all can doubt us all you want, but we’re going to come out there and give them (Michigan football) our best shot,” MSU star Dillon Tatum said ahead of the game. “Really, this is the game. The game. For real. It’s important. It matters, and it matters the freaking most. We’re going to go out there and ball — I believe. And I believe we’re going to win this football game.”

While MSU star players appear to be quite confident in their ability heading into the game, the rest of the nation feels different right now. As of today (Wednesday), Michigan football is a 24-point road favorite with a 93.1% chance of victory, per the ESPN Football Power Index. Additionally, if you ask just about any Michigan State football fan how this game will go, it will become pretty clear that the Spartan fan base is not feeling great, especially after last week’s Rutgers loss.
