The national championship is now just a day away as the Washington Huskies and Michigan Wolverines prepare for battle tomorrow in Houston. Despite some small injury issues earlier in the season, Michigan football will enter the national championship mostly healthy. However, Washington star running back Dillon Johnson recently aggravated a prior injury last weekend in the Sugar Bowl. While this could certainly affect his performance in tomorrows game, it appears the senior running back will be suiting up.

Washington Star Running Back Dillon Johnson Expected To Play Against Michigan Football Despite Injury

Despite their pass-heavy style, running back Dillon Johnson has proven to be a huge part of the Huskies offense. Johnson has rushed for 1,162 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. He averages 5.2 yards per rush and 7.5 yards per reception.

In the late stages of last week’s game against the Texas Longhorns, Johnson reinjured his right foot and bruised his left knee. Still, the Washington star remains confident on playing in the game tomorrow.

After admitting that he probably wouldn’t be 100%, Johnson said “But it’s all good.” He then stated, “I’ll be ready to rock and roll and give whatever my team needs. I’ll be ready to do it.”

Johnson was limited in practice earlier this week but will suit up tomorrow for the national championship game. Whether or not the injury will play a factor will be revealed tomorrow in Houston.
