Headlines surrounding Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines are all over the place — from the sign-stealing scandal to the investigations, the win over Penn State, a coming matchup against Ohio State this month, and more. That said, recruiting fans are happy today, seeing as there is now a new four-star Michigan football quarterback commit in the 2025 recruiting class: Carter Smith of Fort Meyers, Florida.
Jim Harbaugh lands new four-star Michigan football quarterback commit in the 2025 recruiting class
On Tuesday, Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football pulled a new blue-chip recruit from SEC country: four-star quarterback recruit Carter Smith, a member of the 2025 recruiting class.
Carter Smith, Michigan’s latest recruiting win, is a four-star quarterback out of Bishop Verot High School in Florida. Per the On3 rankings, Smith is a four-star quarterback recruit, ranking as the No. 112 player in the nation, the No. 8 quarterback in the 2025 class, and the No. 17 player in the state of Florida.
Smith stands at 6-foot-3 and weighs in over 180 pounds, meaning he already has the frame for Michigan football to work with — something that undoubtedly has Jim Harbaugh excited.
Carter Smith and Bryce Underwood?
While Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, is a five-star quarterback target right in Michigan’s backyard (Belleville, MI), he will be announcing on January 6th of next year, meaning Smith will be the Wolverines’ only QB for the time being. In fact, many remain unsure that Underwood will end up in Ann Arbor, with a plethora of other major schools still vying for his commitment.
The 2025 class is still a ways away from National Signing Day; however, this is worth keeping an eye on.
