Earlier this week, ex-Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions resigned from his position within Jim Harbaugh’s football program amid allegations against him and the Wolverines regarding illegal sign-stealing methods. On Saturday, as Michigan beat down on Purdue, eventually winning 41-13, New Mexico Stadium took a shot at Stalions during their team’s loss to the UNLV Rebels.

Michigan football has been all over the news as of late due to the sign-stealing scandal, which has taken the media cycle by storm since the middle of October. Still, even without Connor Stalions on the sidelines, Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines have been beating down everyone in their path.

In Week 8, Michigan crushed Michigan State 49-0 in East Lansing. Yesterday, coming off the bye week, the Wolverines continued their winning ways, beating Purdue 41-13 at the Big House.

As Michigan football was busy improving to 9-0, the New Mexico Lobos were getting crushed by the UNLV Rebels — one of Michigan’s three non-conference opponents this fall. Still, that did not stop New Mexico’s scoreboard operator from taking a bit of a jab at ex-Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions.

“WELCOME! Connor Stalions (Probably),” read the video board in New Mexico as the Lobos trailed 56-7 in the fourth quarter.

This is likely a new norm for the Wolverines and the team’s fan base, so while Michigan turns the page to next weekend’s game at Penn State, Michigan football fans may as well embrace the outside jokes and attention that the program is getting. Right now, the team has adopted an “Us vs. Them” mentality, and fans will likely have to do much of the same.
