The 2024 wide receiver room in Ann Arbor should be solid — the Wolverines will have Semaj Morgan, Tyler Morris, and potentially even Roman Wilson if he decides to stay. That said, a key wideout, Cornelius Johnson, is out of eligibility after the 2023 season, and it’s clear that the coaching staff is searching for someone who can fill the void. On Friday, a new Michigan football transfer portal target emerged: Jahmal Banks, a wideout from Wake Forrest (ACC).

As the Big Ten and College Football Playoff expand in 2024, the Wolverines are losing some key pieces, though with the help of the transfer portal, Jim Harbaugh and Michigan football could quickly reload the roster and continue to contend for conference and national titles.

Jahmal Banks is heading into his fifth year of college football experience, and has appeared in a whopping 44 games during his time at Wake Forrest in the ACC. Throughout his college career, including two seasons of starting experience, Banks has caught an impressive 104 passes for over 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging over 13.1 yards per catch and more.

On Friday, Banks made a key announcement: he is now a Michigan football transfer portal target, as the Wolverines have offered him a spot on their 2024 roster. Right now, it appears that the Maize and Blue are competing with programs like Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Purdue, West Virginia, and more for Banks, who is ranked as the No. 61 overall player and the No. 15 wide receiver in the transfer portal right now.
