Next week, the dead period will lift for Michigan football recruiting, and to celebrate, the Wolverines are set to have a massive recruiting weekend. Michigan’s annual ‘BBQ at the Big House’ event will be taking place, and it appears that Jim Harbaugh is ready to welcome some of the nation’s top prospects to campus in hopes of swaying them towards his program. For the Wolverines, perhaps no target is more important than 2025 five-star offensive tackle David Sanders, the No. 1 recruit in the nation and a current teammate of QB commit Jadyn Davis.

Michigan football recruiting will host the No. 1 recruit in the nation this month

David Sanders is a top target for Michigan football recruiting, and right off the bat, it seems that the Wolverines are in great shape. First off, Sanders is a tackle for Providence Day High School in North Carolina — the same school where Michigan QB commit Jadyn Davis attends. Additionally, his high school offensive line coach is a former Wolverine football player, and it seems that he is already interested in the Maize and Blue.

That said, later this month, Sanders will be coming to Ann Arbor, and Michigan football fans can rest assured knowing that Jim Harbaugh and the staff will be going all out to sway him toward picking Michigan down the road.

According to 247 Sports, David Sanders is the No. 1 recruit in the nation — he is a massive offensive tackle and headlines the 2025 class right now. While ON3’s No. 1 recruit, Bryce Underwood, remains Michigan’s top target, Sanders is not far behind and could be a potentially elite addition to Jim Harbaugh’s 2025 recruiting cycle.

Michigan football has won the Joe Moore Award twice in a row, which will unquestionably be appealing to the No. 1 recruit in the nation; additionally, his current quarterback is headed to Ann Arbor in 2024, which could be another huge selling point for the Wolverines with Sanders. Right now, it is far too early to tell where this elite target will end up all said and done, but a huge part of the recruiting process is a good early impression, making July’s visit essential for Harbaugh and Co.
