A few weeks ago, Nigel Glover, a four-star linebacker who initially committed to Northwestern, entered the transfer portal ahead of his initial college season. While Glover quickly became the top Michigan football transfer portal target still on the market, the Illinois native opted to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes this evening.
Ohio State Buckeyes land top Michigan football transfer portal target
After entering the transfer portal following the Northwestern hazing scandal, Nigel Glover promptly made his way to Ann Arbor for a visit with Michigan football. At first, it seemed that Michigan could be a top contender in this recruitment; however, things turned out quite scarlet and grey for the former elite blue chip prospect.
According to two newly-placed crystal balls in Glover’s recruitment, the Ohio State Buckeyes were trending to secure this top Michigan football transfer portal target earlier today — he recently left Ann Arbor and visited Columbus soon after, which seemed to seal the deal.
While this is not a devastating blow, losing a top transfer portal target like Nigel Glover is not the best news for Michigan football fans as the 2023 season approaches. That said, Jim Harbaugh’s 2023 transfer class is still elite and will likely play a significant role in the Wolverines’ success this fall.
Per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings, Nigel Glover was a four-star linebacker in the 2023 cycle, ranking as the No. 25 linebacker in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio.
